The Law Summer School
The next Law Summer School will take place in June 2012. If you would like to be placed on our waiting list and informed when the dates are made available, please email Juliette Chase at j.chase@kaplanlawschool.org.uk.
The school has been designed for both law and non-law backgrounds, and it will give you a real insight into life at a law firm as well as adding a boost to your CV. The course aims to enhance your commercial awareness, something all firms are looking for when recruiting trainees.
What is in it for me?
A number of interactive workshops and presentations. You will work in small groups acting for a party on a commercial transaction, focusing on the skills you will use when in practice with other lawyers including negotiation, interviewing, research, writing and drafting and presenting. You will observe, participate, and be given regular feedback.
The Bar Summer School
The aim of the Bar Summer School is to not only give you a taste of the bar course, but to review areas that are likely to come up at pupillage interviews. We want to give you the best chance of succeeding at the Bar. The next Bar Summer School will take place in June 2012. If you would like to be placed on our waiting list and informed of the date when it becomes available, please email Juliette Chase at j.chase@kaplanlawschool.org.uk.
What is it in for me?
The course will include advocacy training, an introduction to ethics, court etiquette, an introduction to civil litigation, an introduction to criminal litigation and applying for pupillage.
