Eating and drinking

Our students have put together a few of their suggestions for eating & drinking in the area. Students and staff can add their suggestions on a Kaplan law School forum on Kaplan law School Interactive

Eat for Less
KLS is on the doorstep of Borough Market, one of the most exciting places to eat and buy food in London.  The full market opens Thursday to Saturday, (although much is also open earlier in the week) and there are some great lunch ideas like a roast in a bap, fresh chicken wraps and melted cheese.
0 mins walk
£5 - £10

There are also many nice restaurants around the market for the parents to take you to including Roast, Fish, Black & Blue and Applebys to name but a few.  Bit more pricey though!
0 mins walk
£10 - £40

For cheaper options try Wagamama and Nando’s for inexpensive filling means.  Cote at The Riverside, Hays Galleria has an early evening menu available Mon-Fri 3-7pm with 2 courses for £9.75.  Or venture down Borough High Street for £1 bacon rolls at Nelson’s, cheap deals at St Christopher’s Village and great value meze at TAS.
Under 10 mins walk
£1-£8

There are also lots of cafes and sandwich shops within 5 minutes walk of the Law School.  A local catering company also delivers sandwiches, rolls, baguettes and cakes to the Law School each weekday for you to purchase on the premises.

Local Pubs and Bars
There are many pubs and bars in the area to choose from.  The Old Thameside Inn and The Anchor are both located on the riverside with outdoor seating areas.  The Market Porter (Stoney Street) and The Mudlark (Montague Close) are both a very short walk from the Law School and are a popular choice with students.  The George Inn, just off Borough High Street, is London’s only surviving galleried coaching inn and has a large outdoor seating area.
