Our excellent law school location in London and premises help create a sense of community on campus. Our building facilitates our personal approach of smaller class sizes, providing a collaborative and social learning environment.
We maintain an open door policy to all students and have achieved this through establishing both our tutor and careers office within the main area of the school making them easily accessible.
Tutors offices
Our tutors' offices are situated throughout the main floor of the law school in London making tutors very accessible. With offices only accommodating 3 tutors each, our students feel comfortable knocking on the door and asking for help or advice at any time.
If tutors are away from the office they will leave a note to this effect on the board outside their room, giving you the opportunity to decide if you wish to seek help from another tutor if necessary.
Administration office
Our administration office team covers a number of functions from compiling the law course timetables, ensuring law course materials are available for each law course, organising assessments and being the key point for the hand in and collection of projects. We are available for student queries during office hours and can help with day to day administration tasks as well as providing advice and information on the London local area such as where the nearest doctors/dentist can be found.
There is a plasma screen in the main reception area of the law school and we often use this as an additional means of communication with students, either as a reminder of deadlines, to highlight matters arising that day, or to invite you to social events.
Legal careers office
Our aim is to support you fully with your legal career aspirations and to help you reach informed career choices. Our legal careers office incorporates a comprehensive legal careers library and is situated close to the student area.
Our team of specialist advisers and personal tutors work closely with the legal profession to give you up-to-date information and advice. We can provide insights into different firm cultures helping you make a more informed choice of firms to which you are best suited to apply.
Breakout area
Our student break out area is the hub of the law school with soft seating, a café style area with internet access and refreshment facilities including a daily catering service, providing you with the ideal space to relax outside of class.
Students often build friendships with other students outside their own teaching group and across qualifications through the social environment of the student area. This helps to widen your network of peers for your future career.
The breakout area is also used to host fundraising and social events such as cake sales and quiz nights. Lockers are available to all students so you do not have to carry all your books around with you each day.
Sports and social
A healthy lifestyle is proven to enhance academic performance, reduce stress and give you a positive outlook. We want you to enjoy a full and varied life as a student whether you are an elite athlete or a complete novice. Each year a Sports and Social Committee is formed and we contribute to various costs for teams to help them set up.
Our students can also take advantage of a special discounted membership of the Thomas Guy Club, used by University of London students amongst others. Situated within 5 mins walk of the Law School, facilities include a club bar with quiz nights and other activities, a fitness centre and 25 metre swimming pool.
