LPC Entry Requirements - Legal Practice Course

The principal criterion for admission to the full-time Legal Practice course is the applicant’s academic profile, the key measure of which is the applicant’s performance at degree level coupled with Graduate Diploma / Common Professional Examination if relevant.

Our entry standards for the Legal Practice Course (LPC) Qualification are high and we would normally expect an applicant to have at least a predicted or actual 2.1. We also look for:

  1. previous qualifications and work experience (legal or otherwise)
  2. proven interest in legal work.

The above is in line with Kaplan’s equal opportunities policies and we regularly monitor and review the profile of our applicants and our LPC student intake as required by the Law Society.

A proportion of LPC student places are set aside for those meeting our entrance criteria who fall into the following categories:

  1. successful diplomates of our own Graduate Diploma in Law
  2. LPC students sponsored by specified firms of solicitors with whom we have an agreement to provide training.
