Partnership with Nottingham Law School

Kaplan Law School works with Nottingham Law School to deliver their Legal Practice Course (LPC), Bar Professional Training Course BPTC (formerly BVC) and Graduate Diploma In Law (GDL) legal qualifications in London. We combine the Nottingham Law School teaching methodology and law course design capability with Kaplan’s extensive educational and training expertise.

The two law colleges share a common management and teaching team and IT infrastructure. On a day to day basis this means that all our staff are part of the Nottingham Law School team. There is an interchange of staff at all levels between the college sites.

Our law tutor team attend training events at Nottingham Law School during the year and pre-meets (where tutors plan the forthcoming sessions) for all taught sessions either in person or by use of video-conferencing.

Nottingham Law School’s LPC is the only law college one to have received the highest possible rating from the Law Society every year since 1993. Kaplan Law School in London achieved the highest ratings in our first validation in December 2007, reflecting the success of the partnership with Nottingham Law School.

Benefits of the Kaplan/Nottingham legal training partnership for our law students

  • Well designed materials, continuously updated
  • A large and experienced legal training tutor team, based in London and Nottingham, focused on practice
  • Smaller class sizes than our competitors for our small group sessions (SGS) and our lectures (large group sessions or LGS)
  • A legal teaching methodology that guarantees you more face to face time with your tutor through classroom contact and our “Personal Tutor” system.
